Mrs. Rebecca Echevarria is a Master’s student at the University of Texas at Austin

pursuing a Master of Global Policy Studies and a Master of Arts in Russian, East European, and

Eurasian Studies with a graduate portfolio in Security Studies. She received her B.A. in Honors

Humanities from UT Austin. In her graduate program, she is continuing her research from her

honors undergraduate thesis on the modern political implications of Russian Orthodoxy. Her

research aims to enrich national security analysis through religious studies methods of examining

symbolic meaning to identify strategic myths in political contexts. After graduation, she aims to

become a public servant and an analyst to improve security issues with her talents and passions.
